Bojan Bilbija, the political editor of „Politika“, stated today that BRICS has become a counterpart to the G7 organization, not only in a political, but also in an economic sense, and that the declaration adopted in Kazan addresses the issue of Ukraine and the need to achieve peace through dialogue.
„I think for the first time there is talk of peace in this way, which is a very important signal. It talks about the involvement of the global South. I see an opportunity for a large number of countries in the so-called global South to join the BRICS process and that ultimately translates into a voting machine at the UN General Assembly. There are a large number of countries that are clearly not completely satisfied with their status, their position in the world,“ Bilbija emphasized.
He assessed that there is full consensus on these topics and „that is not very good news for the western part of the world.“
