Incidents of physical assault on children are always disturbing and concerning, and unfortunately, a recent incident occurred in Malo Polje near Blagaj, south of Mostar. According to a statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, a group of unknown individuals physically attacked a thirteen-year-old boy who was wearing a t-shirt with the symbols of the Football Club „Velež“.
The incident took place last night around 10:30 pm when the boy, identified as R.E. (13), reported to the Mostar Jug Police Station that he was attacked by five or six unknown individuals near the restaurant ‘Laks’ in Malo Polje. They not only attacked him but also took off his ‘Red army’ t-shirt and then left in the direction of the Sports and Recreational Center Bunica.
An investigation into this case is currently ongoing, and the public has not been informed about whether the incident from earlier in August has been resolved. In that incident, unknown individuals physically attacked and injured three people, including a child, in a park in the suburban area of Opine in Mostar.
The incidents of physical violence, especially when they involve children, are alarming and should not be tolerated in any community. It is important for law enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate such cases and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice. The safety and well-being of children must be a top priority for all members of society.
It is crucial for authorities to take immediate action to address and prevent such incidents from happening again in the future. Safety measures, community engagement, and education on tolerance and acceptance must be implemented to create a safer and more inclusive environment for everyone, especially children.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and other relevant authorities should provide updates on the progress of the investigations and keep the public informed about the actions taken to address these incidents. Transparency and accountability are essential in ensuring that justice is served and that similar incidents are prevented in the future.
The community, including parents, teachers, and community leaders, must work together to promote a culture of respect, understanding, and non-violence. Children should feel safe and protected in their communities and should not have to fear for their safety or well-being.
As a society, we must stand together against all forms of violence and discrimination, and work towards creating a more peaceful and inclusive environment for everyone. Every child deserves to grow up in a safe and nurturing environment, free from fear and harm.
It is essential for all members of society to speak out against violence and injustice and to work towards building a society where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Together, we can create a safer and more peaceful future for all, especially for our children who are the future leaders of tomorrow.
