Diplomats Zoran Milivojević assessed today that it is very important for Serbia that its request for an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council be respected for an open character to allow Serbia’s arguments to be heard and to what extent the peace and security of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are endangered.
„Serbia has gained an important point in regard to Kosovo and Metohija, as the session is scheduled based on Serbia’s request based on natural law and scheduled by the Security Council in accordance with the United Nations Charter. This means that the situation in Kosovo and Metohija is quite complex and threatens peace and stability, and that the Security Council, which is primarily responsible for peace and security in Kosovo and Metohija, is called upon to discuss it,“ said Milivojević for Tanjug.
He added that an open session will allow Serbia’s arguments to be widely disseminated, that the situation in Kosovo and Metohija is conveyed in its original form – as it is, as well as the extent to which security and peace are endangered.
